UQ Research Data Manager

Provides information about how to use the UQ Research Data Manager (UQRDM) to store and manage research data for research projects.

Join a UQRDM project

Collaborators are other researchers added to the UQRDM record by the UQ lead or owner of the project record. The Lead and Owner will see that collaborators have been added via the UQRDM project record, and they will be flagged with a 'Pending' status.

Collaborators will be invited to join the UQRDM project via email.

1. Click on the link in the email to activate and authenticate your access to UQRDM. This link will expire after 4 weeks, so collaborators are encouraged to activate their UQRDM account promptly.

2. Authenticate by logging in with the email address the invitation was sent to.  UQRDM will not recognise any other email account.

3. Use the login and authentication option most relevant to you:

  • UQ researchers or affiliated with UQ log in via the UQ staff and student authentication method. If you are a HDR student who has added a staff account as a collaborator on the project record, go to your staff email and follow the invitation link. Use your staff ID to login. LINK TO HDR
  • External collaborators should select a login and authentication method for non-UQ staff/students.

4. Collaborator successfully logs in and joins the UQRDM project. They will receive an email with further instructions on how to directly access UQRDM storage. Note, there may be a 2 hour delay between joining the project and external collaborators being able to access any storage.  The UQ Lead will receive notification that a new collaborator has joined the project, and the collaborator status will change from Pending to Active in the UQRDM project record.

Set access permissions for collaborators

Access permissions can be set for each collaborator and the storage or service they are accessing. Only the lead or owner can set or change access permissions.

1. Permissions can be set at the time a storage allocation is requested

2. Edit, amend or add permissions at any time during the project by updating the permissions for any storage allocation or service
