Publish course reading lists

UQ teaching staff, learn how to access, edit and maintain your course readings list using Talis Aspire. Information on adding new items as Talis bookmarks.

Check the course reading list link

Your Learn.UQ (Blackboard) course should contain a link to the course reading list under Learning Resources. Check it is linking to the correct course list, semester and year.

Add course reading list link (Original)

Important Make sure your list is published.

To add the link if it isn't visible or has been deleted:

  1. Go to the Learning Resources section.
  2. Click on Build Content and select Talis Aspire Reading Lists Deep Linking.
  3. Search for the list.
  4. Click Embed list for the relevant list.
  5. Once the Success message appears, close the window.
  6. In Learn.UQ, edit the link name if needed. Click on drop down menu and choose Edit to change.
  7. Move link to required location on page if needed.

Add link to section within text​ (Original)

Use this option to insert within a text field.

  1. Click on Build Content and choose Item.
  2. Add a name for the item.
  3. In the text editor box, select the circled plus ⨁ symbol from the toolbar​.
  4. Choose Talis Aspire Reading Lists Deep Linking. 
  5. Search for the required list. Click Select section for the required list.
  6. The available sections will be listed. Click Embed section for the one required.
  7. Click Submit. ​
  8. Move the item to a different location on the page if needed.

Add link to section of reading list (Original)

Embed a specific section (week, topic) of a course reading list:

  1. Go to the Learning Resources section.
  2. Click on Build Content and select Talis Aspire Reading Lists Deep Linking.
  3. Search for the required list.
  4. Click the Select section for the required list.
  5. The available sections will be listed. Click the Embed section for the one required.
  6. When the Success message appears, close the tab.
  7. In Learn.UQ, edit the link name if needed. Click on the drop-down menu in the link and choose Edit to change.
  8. Move the link to the required location on the page if needed.

Add course reading list (Ultra)

The link to the course reading list should be automatically added to the Learning Resources area of Learn.UQ (Blackboard).

Important Make sure your list is published.

To add the link if it isn't visible or has been deleted:

  1. Go to the Learning Resources section in the Course Content area.
  2. Hover over the line under Learning Resources so it turns purple with a + symbol.
  3. Choose Content Market.
  4. Scroll down to the Library Course Reading List LTI option. Click on the circled plus icon ⨁ symbol in the bottom right corner.
  5. A "Library Course Reading Link LTI" link will be added. Click on the link. A new tab will open.
  6. Search for the list. Choose the correct semester and year. Click Save.
  7. Edit the link name if needed. Click on the three dots on the right and choose Edit. Click on the pencil icon to change. Click Save.
  8. When ready, make the link visible to students from the option under the link name.
  9. Move the link to the required location on the page if needed by dragging and dropping it.

To add the link if it isn't visible or has been deleted:

  1. Go to the Learning Resources section in the Course Content area.
  2. Hover over the line under Learning Resources so it turns purple with a + symbol.
  3. Choose Content Market.
  4. Scroll down to the Library Course Reading List LTI option. Click on the circled plus ⨁ symbol in the bottom right corner.
  5. A "Library Course Reading Link LTI" link will be added. Click on the link. A new page/tab will open.
  6. Search for the list. Choose the correct semester and year.
  7. In the drop-down menu next to the search box, choose the section you want to link to. Click Save.
  8. Edit the link name. Click on the three dots on the right and choose Edit. Click on the pencil icon to change. Click Save.
  9. When ready, make the link visible to students from the option under the link name.
  10. Move the link to the required location if needed by dragging and dropping it.
