MKTG7502 - Strategic branding: Referencing

This guide has been created to support your Brand Strategy Audit assessment in MKTG7502 Strategic Branding

Referencing

What is referencing?

Referencing is a standardised way of acknowledging the sources of information and ideas that you have used in your document. It involves noting what you use in the course of your paper and recording a list of those readings at the end.

Why reference?

Referencing is important to avoid plagarism, to verify quotations, to show that you have researched the topic and to enable students to follow up what you have written and locate the cited author's work.

It is important to reference all your citations thoroughly and accurately to avoid instances of plagiarism, which is severely penalised by the University.

Referencing style guides

For guidance on how to cite in-text and to compile a reference list, consult one of the Library's referencing style guides.

  • Check with your school or course coordinator to find the referencing style preferred
  •  Whichever style you choose, use that one only and be consistent throughout your assignment.
  •  If you can use any style,  the APA 7th referencing style guide by the American Psychological Association is a well supported style
