Standards

Once you have found the Australian Standard you need, you have 2 options to view it – Download or view online.

• Download (recommended) – Using the download option allows you to choose a location on your computer to save the PDF.  
• View Online – Opens the Standard in your browser (unable to download and save using this option).

Downloaded PDFs are subject to Vitrium Digital Rights Management (DRM).

You can view full documents on the database, but there are conditions for using downloaded files:

• You must view PDFs with a reader - they cannot be opened with internet browsers.
• Adobe Acrobat and PDF Exchange are the only readers compatible with Vitrium DRM.
• You will need an active internet connection, when first opening a PDF.
• Printing is limited to two print sessions per download (regardless of the number of pages).
• Files are locked to the device on which they are first opened - use on multiple devices requires multiple downloads.

Before opening a PDF, you need to change the settings in the your PDF reader.

Using Acrobat Reader

1. Open Preferences (Ctrl-K).
2. Select the JavaScript category from the side menu.
3. Uncheck Enable global object security policy.
4. Click OK.
5. Open the PDF you downloaded. You can right click on the document and select Open With: Adobe Acrobat Reader.
6. Acrobat will prompt you to add Intertek DRM as a trusted domain.
7. Click Yes and you will be able to view and print the downloaded PDF.
