ORCID for hospital staff

Information and guidance for Hospital staff on ORCID

Set up your ORCID

An ORCID iD will belong to you throughout your research career. ORCID enables integration, allowing systems to connect researchers, publishers, funders and other organisations. Further information is available for ORCID for Researchers.

Privacy settings

Set the visibility of your ORCID to Everyone so that:

  • anyone can view your ORCID record via orcid.org
  • The University of Queensland can use the data in your ORCID record
  • your ORCID is visible to the research community, including potential collaborators and funders

Develop your ORCID record

Once you have created your ORCiD, populate your ORCID record with information about you and your research activities to make it useful.

Develop your ORCID:

  1. Ensure the visibility is set to Everyone. You can hide individual records if needed
  2. Complete the biographyeducation and employment sections to build your ORCID
  3. Under Also known as add all variations of your name
  4. Under Country add countries in which you have undertaken research
  5. Under Keywords add keywords that describe your research
  6. Add relevant links under Websites, including your professional webpages, Google Scholar profile, personal research blog or social media channels you use for research.
