Getting started with research data management

Is your data managed well? Is it backed up? Secure? Easy to find?

Whether you are collecting your own data or working with existing datasets, you will leave this training with strategies to help you manage research data effectively.  We will share real-life case studies and cover the basics of data management planning, to help you manage your current project data.

The training has been divided into two sessions:

  • Your research data and how to manage it
  • Document your research data.

Session one - Your research data and how to manage it

In this session, we look at:

  • the definition of research data
  • the importance of research data
  • principles and best practice of managing your research while you are conducting the research project.
