Types of tests
Published Tests:
In general, the Library does not purchase published tests or measurements.
- Available for purchase through publishers.
- Often can only be purchased by suitably qualified professionals.
Unpublished Tests:
In general, the Library does not collect unpublished tests or measurements.
- Not commercially published
- Can often be found in the scholarly literature eg. journal articles.
- May be included in the appendices of articles or theses.
- While the same restrictions are not applied as for published tests, author permission to use them needs to be obtained.
Test and measurement databases
- Mental measurements yearbook with tests in printA comprehensive guide to over 2,000 contemporary testing instruments. This resource also includes Tests in Print (TIP).
Using databases to locate tests
Locating test information in Library
- Click on the Browse Search option and choose the Browse By Subject option from the drop down menu.
- Search using the terms "Psychological Tests" or "Educational Tests and Measurements".
OR
- Use the name of the specific test or the topic for the test eg. Self Worthy Inventory or self-esteem testing.

- Z5814 - Educational & Psychological tests - Bibliographies
You can also search for relevant call numbers in the Library Search by choosing the Browse Search option and selecting the Browse By Library of Congress call numbers option.
